Russell Jr. Memorial Award from the American Heart Association in honor of his efforts to decrease cardiovascular disease in the Los Angeles Latino population. Cleveland Clinic Study Shows Coronary Bypass Surgery is More Beneficial Than Angioplasty in High-Risk Patients

In a study performed at the Cleveland Clinic, researchers found better survival rates in high-risk patients who underwent bypass surgery than in patients who underwent angioplasty.
