Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is a freestanding, private pediatric facility located within a 15-minute drive from the Health Sciences campus. Consistently ranked as one of the top Childrens Hospitals in the United States. CHLA is internationally recognized for advanced pediatric care, research and medical education. Each year, the 314-bed hospital treats more than 175,000 children from newborn to age 21 with specialized, multidisciplinary care. The Cardiothoracic Training Program at CHLA is a high volume service performing more than 750 cardiothoracic procedures per year.
