Guidant Microwave Surgical Ablation System AFx FLEX 10

The AFx FLEX 10 is a microwave probe that is used for the ablation of cardiac tissue. The AFx probe creates long, continuous lesions, heating cardiac tissue to create even and symmetrical lines of predictable and controllable depth. Shielding on non-ablative surfaces ensures directed energy delivery, minimizing risk of collateral damage.

The AFx probe is flexible and malleable, allowing the surgeon to shape the device to the contour of the tissue and accommodating variations in surgical approaches. The AFx probe's versatility allows its use in epicardial or endocardial, off-pump or on-pump, and beating heart or arrested heart procedures.
