Auscultation
Auscultation is the listening for sounds made by internal organs inside the human body, such as the heart and lungs. This is done to aid in the diagnosis of diseases. Direct auscultation uses the ear to listen, while indirect auscultation uses a listening device such as a stethoscope to amplify the sounds, like the heartbeat.
