Percutaneous
A minimally invasive approach to surgery, where inner organs are accessed through small needle-size punctures in the skin. Percutaneous procedures are common with vascular surgery, where a slender needle called a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel. A wire is then inserted inside the catheter. The wire can then be used to guide other catheters to access the blood vessel.
